justina's thoughts from the emmys

woke up - flawless

I have never watched the Emmy's before,
so I had zero expectations, which was good,
because it was a bit slow.

HOWEVER, there were some really good moments.

Including a gentle reminder that we are nothing but molecules hurtling through open space.

So now, in no particular order, my thoughts from the 2014 Emmys:

1. (before the show has even started) Why isn't Amy Poehler hosting this?

2. We don't really need to read the other nominees if Breaking Bad is at all involved in the category.

3.  Forget man buns, man braids is where it's at. Who is he?
 (It was Cary Joji Fukunaga)

4. Okay guys Modern Family wasn't THAT funny.

5. New writing strategy inspired by Game of Thrones:
KILL 'EM ALL.

6. The secret to Matthew McConaugheys eternal youth is in his tan. It has to be.

7. I predict "None of Us Will Ever Make As Much Money as Kim Kardashian Did For Her iPhone Game and Other Truths as Told By Jimmy Fallon" will make the NYT Bestsellers list.

8. Does anyone actually watch The Big Bang Theory or is that just a long running joke?

9. Why am I never on the same street as Billy Eichner?

10. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey are the ultimate Hollywood Bromance
and should stay together forever.  #TrueDetectiveSeason2

11. Ricky Gervais is everywhere and I am shocked and alarmed about it.

12. Jessica Lange is pretending she didn't know she was going to win that award
and I am laughing because she definitely did.

13. Andy Samburg should have been Jofferey from the start.

14. Aaron Paul should always win awards, just for his speech.

15. When I was little, Aladdin was my favorite movie, and Genie was the greatest character in the world to me. I must have watched that masterpiece of a Disney cartoon hundreds of times.
The Robin Williams tribute was a proper goodbye to a free Genie.

Seriously though,
Beyo-I mean, Amy Pueblo should definitely host next year.

xx

If I'd have known you were going to be here // TEEN CHOICE AWARDS 2014

(for best quality watch in 720hd)
dress + dr. martens: c.o asos

I WENT TO THE TEEN CHOICE AWARDS.

IT WAS GREAT.

I don't know how to properly sum it up other than that.
I had such a fantastic time getting to see some old friends, make some new ones,
and bear witness to the extremely strong eyebrow game that was happening.
(see: Charlie Rowe + Willow Shields)

I talked about glow bowling with The Band Perry,
fangirled over Hailee Steinfeld with Laura Marano,
 oh and HUGGED JOSH HUTCHERSON
but no big deal not at all

I took some amazing selfies (as promised)
and then some even better ones.
see my video for those ha ha wink wink

I even eyebrow wiggled with Tyler Posey,
and let me tell you,
that is a life experience everyone should have.

And I realized that I was doing life right,
when Alli Simpson came over to me and said:

"If I'd have known you were going to be here,
I would have worn my overalls."

coachella foreva

honesty hour: I forgot coachella was even happening

Usually it's such a big thing, and this year, I felt like it just sort of....happened.

I don't know why.

The celebrities were there, the music was there, Jared Leto's blessed hair was there,
but it didn't add up to the giant neon fringe overdose I'm used to.

Maybe it was just because they didn't make us all see dead people this year.
I mean, that was a pretty good trick.
or was ittttt

Justina

that slime really suits you//KCA 2014

R6 is catchy, right?

It's been three days and I still don't think I've entirely processed the KCAs.

It was such a mind-blowingly amazing experience
that I doubt I'll fully recover for at least a year.
And then it'll be time for another round.

I mean, let's take stock:

I got to hang with R5
 (they should adopt me)

I selfie'd with Tyler Oakley
(!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I also selfie'd with Bella Hadid who is actually
5000% cooler than she seems on the internet
which I thought was impossible

LL Cool J high fived me
I nearly lost an arm but worth it

I was enveloped in the cloud of adorable talent that is Alex & Sierra
yes they are really that cute
Ariana Grande stood behind me in security and we talked purses

And then like 80 million other amazing things happened

That's all BEFORE the show even started.

I have never talked that fast to that many people in my entire life.
It was like speed dating at the Hunger Games,
but with reporters and green slime.

with all the priceless one liners and solid gold selfies.

Best of all: I didn't get slimed.

Okay just a little bit.

xx,
Justina

PS.
BIG HUGE SPARKLY THANK YOU TO HUFFPOST TEEN FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN.
Elizabeth, you're the #1 babe.

BIG ANNOUNCENT//sparkles and slime

Displaying image.jpeg
Once again, Dylan O'Brien is displaying my emotions for me.

I'm sitting here reading my posts from past years of Nickelodeon award shows
and alternately laughing my head off/wondering if I've peaked.

I suppose I'll figure it out Saturday...
ON THE ORANGE CARPET.

That's right,
your favorite award show commentator is headed for the carpet itself.
I'm going to be bringing a splash of sparkle to the slimiest of  shows.

And I'm very excited.

Both about going and that line, which was definitely a 10 pointer.

I'll be on the carpet for HuffPost Teen,
so expect some serious laughs,
 very important questions about selfies,
and the occasional dance break.

Disclaimer: If anyone throws slime at me,
I'm going to throw my shoe at them.

xx,
Justina

justina's thoughts from the oscars

"I love you Ellen!" -Jared Leto

Last night was the best award show of the season.

There was Ellen, pizza, Ellen, selfies, Ellen, Sad Leo, Ellen, Jared Leto, Ellen, Jared Leto's hair,
and a minute and a half long education on the Fallings of Jennifer Lawrence,
by no other than Ellen.

Here are the thoughts, in no particular order.

1. What kind of award show would this be if JLawr didn't trip in the first half hour?
Answer: a bad one

2. I ship Emma + Joseph forever.
Bye Ron.

3.  Lupita Nyong'o is an incredibly graceful and flawless human being.
Dear Pharrell's Hat: I want my lipbalm back. Love, L

4. The award for best speech is tied between Jared
(minute in a half, covered  all major world problems)
and Lupita
("No matter where you're from, your dreams are valid.")

 5. Serious question: do Australians have special bras with pockets inside?
Must investigate.

6."-it's been raining. We're fine. Thank you for your prayers."
 -Ellen nailing LA

7. Can someone order me a pizza or I can just share with Brad Pitt that'll work too

8. If I just jump on a trampoline for twenty minutes, then fall off, is it the same as seeing Gravity?

9. I SURVIVED THE ELLEN INDUCED TWITTER CRASH OF 2014
her selfie game is too strong

10. Ellen. ELlen. ELLen. ELLEn. ELLEN.

I'm going to start practicing my "-and the Oscar goes too.."

just in case

xx,
Justina

justina's thoughts from the golden globes// golden globes 2014

oh you thought you were gonna see my butt? surprise

The golden globes were good, bad, and ridiculously hilarious.

Here we go:

1. amy+tina+amy+tina AMY+TINA 4 LIFE
2. How many misspellings of "golden globes" can I hashtag?
3. Hahahahahah Leo actually won something
4. but Tina is the real winner for that introduction
5. Lupita Nyong'o would make a terrifically chic batwoman
6. Emma (Watson) + Emma (Thompson) slayed your faves
7. YAY JLAWR AND NHOULT OFFICIALLY NEED A CUTE COUPLE NAME
 (suggestions: Jenniholas, Nichiffer)
8. Did anyone even see that movie?
9. And the golden globe for best acceptance speech goes to Aaron Paul
10. Can I date Tina's illegitimate adult son with Idris Elba?

Ah, award season 2014, what a time to be alive.

xx,
Justina

I didn't get to crowdsurf: LAUNCHxMusic 2013

day 1 outfit: dress + sunnies: c.o. lulu*s, shoes c.o. bc footwear
day 2 outfit: vintage overalls + top, shoes c.o. bc footwear

my ears are still ringing, is that normal?

this weekend, I attended LAUNCH music festival,
which is a groovy (heard this word repeated about thirty bajillion times) new festival out of my hometown.

and for the sake of keeping this organized,
here's a brief thought list  I made while sitting on a lawn listening to St. Lucia:

1. #launchsacramento
2. geez it's hot. is anyone else hot?
3. I LIKE THIS BAND (Turquoise Jeep)
4. Snowcone time. And repeat. (see above pictures)
5. I LIKE THIS SINGER. (Dessa)
6. I need to bring a backpack tomorrow.
7. You guys, I'm really hot. (it was 100 and something degrees, literally.)
8.  THECULTSTHECULTSTHECULTS
9. Oooh, you have cool hair, let me follow you around so I can get a photo.
10.  (sing)
Make new friends, even though you'll never see them again, we'll always have im-a-gine dra-gons
11. Coachella shirts counted: 28

I had never been to a music festival before, but this one was a great starting point.
I tried coconut water for the first (and last) time,
grooved to some gangsta/dubstep/rave/kanye west music,
waved my arms around quite a bit,
and accepted compliments on my gorgeous shoes like nobodies business.
(slow clap for bc footwear, 'cause I was the only person not limping at the end of the day)

My outfits were well done if I do say so myself and I do
I floated about in my new favorite summer dress from Lulu*s
thank goodness it's summer until December here
and felt super peasant-chic in my favorite vintage top
Basically, I've got the festival look down

I'm not big into indie music,
(my ipod reads something like "Katy Perry Ke$ha Iggy Azalea Lana Del Rey")
so it was cool how many different types of music were happening.
I definitely discovered some new artists I liked.
(Grieves, Dessa, Doomtree)

The only thing I'm moaning about is an overall tan (#justinaproblems, am I right?

 update the festival calendar kids,
there's a new jam in town

xx,
Justina

Justina's Choice Thoughts From The Teen Choice Awards

Lily Collins, seriously upping the ear game.

And now for the post everyone waits for after an awards show.

1. Rebel Wilson in a wetsuit: best outfit of the night.
2. Is Chord Overstreet trying to be Matt Smith right now with that hair?
3. Palm trees are weird looking and do not belong on clothing.
 *cough* Bella Thorne *cough*
4."Stay Sexy."
5.  Hailee Steinfeld is the only celebrity I never worry about. That girl's got serious dress game.
5. When they just handed Miley that trendsetter award,
she was like "Candies who? This is Saint Laurent baby."
6. Pleather leggings work for no one Demi.
7. Even after all this time, I'm still into Hayley Williams hair color.
8. Slow clap for Lea Michele.
9. YOU CAN'T TWERK. NO.
10. Why am I not hosting this?

I found myself wishing slime were involved with this show.

splat on the onesies.

xx,
Justina

Teen Vogue It Girls Night In: Instaglam

(what I wore: dress c.o. trollied dolly, shoes c.o. bc footwear)

oops we did it again

We had a fabulous It Girls Night In with Teen Vogue and CoverGirl!

As you can see, we got a full spread of CG's new products to play with, and we went to town.
My favorite product is the Flamed Out mascara. A boring choice, you think?
no.

Having a good mascara is probably the most important thing make-upwise,
and this one is the best I've tried.

Also, it comes in a really cool bottle/container/package.

Can't say no to shiny flames

We ate yummy (and gorgeous, I've never seen a tie-dye one) cupcakes, watched Pitch Perfect, and took goofy jump shots in which our ankles were definitely at serious risk.

Testing all these products inspired some pretty interesting conversations about our various beauty routines + looks, so in the video above, you'll get a beauty tip from each of us!

the secrets of the it girl sisterhood

Overall, it was a wonderful night, and Teen Vogue is da bomb for having me host it.

Now I need to go recover from my addiction to these lipglosses

They smell and taste like strawberries,
 it could happen to anyone

xx,
Justina
