hey look at this totally not cliche in the slightest eyeliner beauty tutorial

I always tell you guys to tell me what you want to see on the blog, and sometimes it only takes me six months to get around to it. So Zoe, here is your everyday eyeliner tutorial! I tried to make a super cute and over saturated video where I talked a lot about really LOVING my eyeliner and LOVING my lipstick and LOVING M.A.C but you guys know me too well. Darn. So instead, here is a subtle and tastefully shot series of photographs.

1| Don't have eyeliner on. Do have eyeshadow on. Pick whatever color you like.
2| Draw a semi-straight ish line from your inner eye out to the outer middle of your eyelid (that's technical talk right there).
3| Flick, don't drag, an itty bitty baby line from the end of your actual eye to the end of your new eyeliner eye.
4| SCRIBBLE IT IN. STAY IN THE LINES AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
5| Be fierce. Blue Steel.


Ta da, you've got eyeliner sharper than me.

in the praise of hair

This is just a post for me to spill out a bunch of random thoughts I've been thinking.

1. This is my new favorite hairstyle. I don't know why, but it is.

I have sO MUCH HAIR. I feel like it has honestly doubled, and there was already quite a bit of it. I've only been back at school only one day and already managed to snag it on the back of my desk seat four times. Four. TIMES. My Italian professor thinks it's hilarious. She also thinks my attempts at speaking Italian are hilarious, but that's a story for another time.

2. We've almost made it through a whole month of 2015! YAY US. Someone get a cake.

3. I know I haven't done any outfit posts yet and am a Shame To The Fashion Blogging Nation, but IN MY DEFENSE all I have worn lately is stripes and Dr. Martens, and I'm not in denial about how boring that'll get after a while. I'll make it up in February, promise. Just like you can make up for all the times you've already "forgotten" your new years resolutions. I see you.

4. Lately, I've been getting a lot of emails from you guys and I LOVE it. I love hearing about where you're from, and your prom dress options, and seeing pictures of your pets. Y'all are a pretty legit squad. Except you with the teacup Chihuahua - that's not a real dog.

5. There are so many great things happening that I can't tell you about yet. If it ever seems like I'm half-arsing it, just know that the other half is involved in some cool CIA-level secret stuff.

I can't believe it's been four years you guys. No, really, there's no need to go all the way to the beginning. Trust me, it's not cute. But think about it: this blog is basically a toddler. That is no excuse for its unexplainable temper tantrums, but still. 

It's grown into this crazy amazing thing, and I never know what's around the corner. 
So here's to more time on the internet, kids.

ah, prom. 

What a wonderful night. 

You recreate Charlies Angels poses with all of your girlfriends.

 (minus one, who is across a rather large pond)

You get to eat hamburgers + french fries,

and make faces out the drive thru window 

at your favorite eating establishment.

You go watch a movie that involves Don Draper, India,

 and a rather unlikely plotline.

You fit six people in a photo booth,

 then decide polaroids are better anyways.

You discover that when it comes to air hockey, 

your tiniest friend is much more ferocious than her size and demeanor had led you to believe.

You defend your title as reigning Dance Dance Revolution queen in very high heels.

..and you do it all in a dress you found stuffed on the back of the rack in your thrift store 

that fit you perfectly from the very beginning.

Teen Vogue It Girls Night In: Instaglam

oops we did it again

We had a fabulous It Girls Night In with Teen Vogue and CoverGirl!

As you can see, we got a full spread of CG's new products to play with, and we went to town.

My favorite product is the Flamed Out mascara. A boring choice, you think?

no.

Having a good mascara is probably the most important thing make-upwise, 

and this one is the best I've tried.

Also, it comes in a really cool bottle/container/package.

Can't say no to shiny flames

We ate yummy (and gorgeous, I've never seen a tie-dye one) cupcakes, watched Pitch Perfect, and took goofy jump shots in which our ankles were definitely at serious risk.

Testing all these products inspired some pretty interesting conversations about our various beauty routines + looks, so in the video above, you'll get a beauty tip from each of us!

Overall, it was a wonderful night, and Teen Vogue is da bomb for having me host it.

Now I need to go recover from my addiction to these lipglosses

They smell and taste like strawberries,
