Raise your hand if you remember the days of the Arm Party, when every wannabe cool kid was sporting a stack of mismatched bangles and bracelets up to their elbows.
I
would just like to point out that I was doing this before it was cool
(hipster move, I know, but move on.) to disguise my awkwardly bony
wrists.
We slogged along like this for quite a bit until we realized how stupid it looked. However, I am still a bracelet hoarder, a habit that will most likely stay with me until my last days. In my defense, I do have some pretty awesome bracelets (as seen above). Let's talk about them.
1: SPIKES. This bracelet makes me feel tough, so I wear it with pink things.
2: My friend Madeline is not good at holding onto presents, and so I got my Christmas gift in November. Sparkly, isn't it? She knows me well.
3: I love love love this one so much, it's so sweet and understated. Very Taylor Swift-ish.
4: Ok, tell me this isn't the coolest. Liar. It is. I'm a West coast girl, so we don't really sail or wear striped polos or any of that fun stuff, but I've always been a bit fascinated with the stereotypical East coast "Ralph Lauren sailor chic" girl. Lemon & Line is the perfect fulfillment.
5: My best friend is a gorgeous Canadian genius, whom I met via a contest we were both in two years and several Justina's ago. (Who said internet relationships don't last? Pfft.) Anyway, when we met for the very first time, I made us these matching bracelets. (I was a crafty little thing.) I have lost mine six times, and it always manages it's way back into my pocket, or my shoe. Ideal.
I love them.
But I still wouldn't wear them all on one arm.
Rest In Peace Arm Party, you will forever be remembered as the time period when no one could lift their arms.

Heehe this is such a cute post. Remember the days of the jelly bracelets, where preteen girls (and boys) would stack literally hundreds of rubbery thin plastic bracelets around their wrists, and the more you had (and the more interestingly coloured/glittered they were), the cooler you were? I probably managed to stuff over one hundred onto each skinny arm. Ahh, those were the good old days, when I still wore pink and blue striped socks with uniform school shoes.
ReplyDeletehaha, I am still wearing ym party, but not to work, too heavy to type!

Thanks for the comment on my blog sweet. I love that rope bangle, it's so cute. You know those skinny gold bangles? I used to wear loads of those - like 200 on each arm. I had arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger. True story.
