So Justina Went To The Beach (sort of)

So..who wants to know where I went?

You do.
guess.

guess again

ok.

I can’t handle this kind of stress

I WENT TO LOS ANGELES TO SHOOT AT SMASHBOX STUDIOS FOR DISNEY CHANNEL’S "TEEN BEACH MOVIE" AND IT WAS PERFECT

whew

Do you even know how hard it is to keep a secret from y’all?
 Especially a secret like that.

I am getting the feeling that you have a lot of questions.

Let me provide you will some general thoughts and answers:

1.You only think you're good at doing your makeup until someone who is actually good at doing makeup does it for you.
2. Having a nice car is good, but being driven around in a nice car is better.
3. Yes, Garret Clayton’s teeth are really that white.
4. Australian accents are really lovely.
5. False lashes are one of the best things ever invented.
6. Sometimes, (always) a lot of bling is a good thing.
7. I'll never get used to having this many people touch my hair at once.
8. Teen Beach Movie songs will never leave your mind.
9. There are a lot of people on shoots you will never see, but who are incredibly important.
10. "Hairspray! Safety pins! Hollywooooooood tape!"

I met some really cool people, and I want to talk about them:

Elisabeth:  She who is in charge of keeping us on track and does a gorgeous job of it. Elisabeth was in charge of all the little details of my trip, and she is so lovely. Everybody clap for Elisabeth.

Kelly: My makeup artist and hair tamer. She completely shamed me in the eyeliner department. Clap for her too.

Chelsea: The first stylist I’ve ever met who completely understand my visual visions, and the power of bling. We'll just clap for them all while we're at it.

Garret + Maia: The first movie stars I’ve ever met, who were both exceedingly charming and fun, and had really good playlists.

EVERYONE ON SET:
Dedicated to the Disney magic, and being nice to me, which was absolutely wonderful of them.

I don’t know about you, but my Disney Channel experience is of the High School Musical/Hannah Montana/Kim Possible generation. I’m used to the song and dance, so to speak. Teen Beach Movie is about a flashback, and is a flashback. If you don’t already know the plot, it’s about two teenage  surfer romantics, who, trying to catch the last monster wave in the name of summer, youth, and all that good stuff, get zapped into their favorite 1960’s..er..teen beach movie, Wet Side Story.

It’s all beachy from there, right?

WRONG.

But I’m telling you no more.

Go watch the trailer.

Better yet, on July 19th, at 8, on..come on, you know which channel, watch the movie.

There’s a really strong fashion element to the film. It’s sort of a fifth lead character, defining the different groups and the time period.

You’ll get more on that in an upcoming post, where I prove to you that you can take Justina out of her town and put her in a studio surrounded by a ton of professionals,
but you can’t make the Justina not jump around like Justina.

                                                                                xx,
                                                                             Justina

Incase You Missed It (a WITWWJ post)

I'm dropping clues like bobby pins.

If you knew how many bobby pins I lose a day.

The clues, in photographic order:

1. Who wants to know where I went?

2. Made a new friend! (*cough* Garret Clayton *cough*)

3. I can be funny sometimes. (Louise Roe thought so)

4. Bling me up, Chelsea!

5. Time flies when you're having your makeup done. (Kelly understood my love of pink.)

6. Accessories on accessories on accessories.

7. I could have fit my entire room in this baby.

8. I spy a very excited Justina...and a pineapple.

9. Clicking clothes on camera. (try it, five times fast.)

Put it all together, and what do you get...?

I don't know, you tell me.

What did you get?

Where in the world was I?

xx,
Justina

Daisy Queen

 dress: c.o. trollied dolly|shoes c.o. lulu*s

ring around Justina, pocket full of daisies, dresses, dresses, we all look fab

well that's my version anyway.

This dress is one of those really magical ones you can wear to a tea party, a horse race, to the library, and for a walk in the forest.

If you're really ambitious, you could probably even do all four at once.

No?

Me neither, I just wanted to throw that out there.

But daisies do have superpowers, I'm convinced.

I love the print on this dress, and the cut.
It's a little more formal than the last TD dress I showed you, but still casual enough for the aforementioned forest trip.

Speaking of forests:

I'm going to caaaaaaaaamp.

That's right.

Me, the woods, no wifi, and a hundred other people.

It's gonna be great.

Unfortunately, there's this whole "no wi-fi" deal.

it's the twenty first century people come on

But fear not. I've got you covered.

"Schedule post" is everyone's new favorite button, ok?

 and when I return.....

THE BIG REVEAL

bum bum baaaaaaa

xx,
Justina

ps. Remember, I'm going to give away one Trollied Dolly dress soon!
Until then (or the 30th of June), use the code "Wire25" at checkout for 25% off anything!

End of the Road

shirt: c.o. feel more better|shorts: romwe|shoes:c.o. bc footwear|earrings c.o. stella & bow

Finally, finally, I shuck off the jumpers and long sleeved dresses: it is summer on the internet.

I'm slowly learning to embrace my inner Cali gurl. These shorts are the first step. This time two months ago, they would have been too cutesy for me. But y'know what, I LIKE CUTESY.

There. I said it.

Don't start pushing the hairbows on me yet though.

I don't think my hair can handle it.

I have lived on this street my entire life, and yet, the last time I walked all the way to the end of it was like 10 years ago.  Today I discovered that it's basically a photography wonderland. There's chain link and cacti and whitewashed fences and big plants and concrete and woo.

It was very exciting for me.
But then we started melting, so then we had to go inside for obvious reasons.

There were popsicles.

I bet you're just thinking
"pretty pictures blah blah it was hot blah blah
WHEN IS SHE GONNA TELL US WHERE SHE WENT."

Well.

Click here, read it, and guess away.

ha.

ha.

haaaaaa.

(that was evil laughter)

Also, Happy Fathers Day.
Because I highly doubt any fathers read this, go tell a father that for me.

My daddy has been encouraging my dreams since I was a baby and first discovered feather boas.

He has driven hundreds of miles, sat in crowded places for hours, and at least tried to watch the Fashion Week livestream with me.

So...yeah, I think I'll keep him.

For now.

xx,
Justina

Swish and Flick

 dress: c.o trollied dolly|sunnies: c.o zerouv

There should be a special word we apply to dresses like this.

For right now, lets go with "flawless"

#2flawless4you

The cut, the pattern, the little knots. This dress is flashback fashion done right.

I spent the whole day messing with the skirt.

Swish, and flick, swish and flick.

If you need lessons, go find Hermione.

So where do you go to hoard up on magical dresses like this?

Right. Here.

I'll give you a moment.

Back with me?

I promise to take up only a bit more time, then you can get back to heaven.

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to show you two more Trollied Dolly dresses. When I show you the third, you'll get to enter to win one of the ones I've worn, including this one!
That's just how much we love you.

If you just absolutely cannot wait at all and that dress needs to be yours right this exact moment...

'Wire25' at checkout give you 25% off errythang on the website until June 30th

Life just keeps getting better, doesn't it?

AND

I'll get to tell you where in the world I went soon.

Did you just scream?

That's ok, I was there and I want to scream with excitement too.

Can you handle all this?

You sure?

It's all up from here, baby.

But there are no balloons involved.

what a pity.

xx,
Justina

Wonderful Wednesday

 Obsessed.

I am completely and utterly obsessed with this photographers work. I just...IT'S SO PRETTY.
The composition of the photos is stunning.
I want to blow each one up massive and hang them in my house.
Or on my ceiling.
Or anywhere, actually.

I love art that you can look at, and everytime you do, you see something new.
It's one of the best kinds of magic.

Also, whatever magic allows you to grow your hair to your feet, Rapunzel-style.
That's good too.

xx,
Justina

Kate Middleton Status

 dress: c.o. krisp*shoes: c.o. bc footwear*sunnies: c.o. zerouv

I am OBSESSED with the Duchess.

My Kate M. is royal-er than yours.
Three years ago, I stayed up until 1:30 am to watch her whole wedding live,
and now,
I'm following her pregnancy like normal people follow Kim Kardashians.
that's the difference between them and us

When this dress arrived, and I unpacked it, I was watching a 20/20 Special about what it's going to take to be the royal nanny, and it's effortless chic just caught me.

"Mum..this dress...it's so...Kate."

And it is. It really is.

It's a little more "classic" than my usual style, but it's so good.

I tried to go for the whole look with cute little heels and everything, but....no.

red leopard print pony hair sneakers ftw babe

I'd like to see Kate pull those off.

xx,
Justina
ps. three outfit posts in a row, I'm on a magic streak.
